I started my journey in March 2012. I’m 5’2 and hovered around 140 lbs through most of high school and ballooned up to 210 by the time I graduated college. In March 2012 I downloaded an app called Lose It to count calories and started the program Couch to 5k to start running. I’ve pretty much never looked back. I’ve ran a half marathon, two 10ks and six 5ks. My first 5k time was 38:48 and my last 5k was 26:19. I’m determined to break 25 mins. I’d say the one thing that has kept me motivated all of this time is the quote, “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.” I decided I’m using my time proactively and becoming exactly who I want to be.
